HIV/STD Prevention Curriculum
In accordance with Washington State law (RCW 28A.230.070), Battle Ground Public Schools offers instruction in HIV/AIDS prevention to all students in grades 5-12 enrolled in health courses. Parents and guardians can review the materials that will be used to teach HIV/STD prevention in these classes, and can opt out their child(ren) from this instruction.
You can review the materials in one of three ways.
Middle school grades 5-8:
- Review the curricula below for each grade level (downloadable PDF documents).
- Review the materials at your child’s school office.
- Review the materials during the annual public review for grades 5-8 (this event has passed for 2018).
High school grades 9-12:
- HIV/AIDS prevention is offered as part of the high school sexual health curriculum.
