Hour of Code

We believe all students should have the opportunity to learn about computer programming, and that’s why every December Battle Ground Public Schools students participate in Hour of Code, a worldwide effort that creates excitement around computer science and writing code. The fun and engaging event draws students and teachers from every grade level. It helps build creativity and problem-solving skills; and by starting early, students will build a foundation for future success no matter what they do later in life.
Participants do not need to know how to code, and the program is for all students, from kindergarten to high school seniors. Hour of Code is organized by Code.org, a nonprofit dedicated to promoting computer science education.
